The families of teenagers lost after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an painful wait for official news and appealing for any details about their family members online.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage depict the ceiling igniting as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the fire, which resulted in the death of 40 people and wounded another 119. A spokesperson said on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to locate the final individuals.

In the meantime, loved ones have been using online platforms to appeal for clues about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his parent.

The resident of Lutry near the city, informed a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she stated.

She explained that some of his companions had been found with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "There are no words; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's government has said that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.
