The former president's Family Member Receives Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Prior to Professional Golf Debut
The rising star boasts impressive online audience
Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent backers when she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns several golf courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play competitive games," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He basically advised me to go out there and relax," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
Yet she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's a superior person. He advised me to go out there, have fun, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face several the biggest names in the sport at the Annika, such as world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence exposes the sport to new audiences, especially among youth audiences.
Kai maintains substantial online presence and just introduced her own apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
