Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down in accordance with established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
